Nike Dunk Hi SB “Skunk”

Artists find inspiration in some of the strangest place. However, the end product is usually unique and pushes the envelope just enough to open up our minds. Artist Todd Bratrud has taken that exact approach on a pair of Nike Hi Dunks, dubbed “Skunk”.

The shoe features a multiple shades of green through0ut the upper and are complimented by a purple Nike Swoosh. The midsole is also a shade of green, while the outsole finishes the design in purple. The most striking aspect of the shoe is the textured material used on the upper. They look to constructed of an unfinished or frayed suede that give the shoe an almost grass-like look. The insole is blue with a green skunk, thus the name of the shoe. Look for these to hit at Quickstrike accounts in April.

Adidas Originals present two pairs of limited edition sneakers to commemorate movie launch of Hellboy II

Outstanding street wear brand adidas Originals is proud to announce a unique tri-collaboration project for the fall/winter season 2008. It will launch two sneakers to coincide with the global release of the Hellboy II ‘The Golden Army’ movie in August 2008. The collaboration brings together adidas Originals, Universal Studios & Guillermo Del Toro, the film’s director, and Dark Horse Comics & Mike Mignola, the original comic book artist of Hellboy. Together, this tri-project has produced two outstanding sneakers: the Forum Mid-Golden Army and the Stan Mid-Hellboy.

The Forum Mid-Golden Army takes the court standard and mixes the appropriate trio of gold, black and white with Hellboy lettering across the Velcro strap, with an image of Ron Perlman as the titular demonic anti-hero on the outsole and footbed. Additionally, adidas Originals created a jaw-dropping statement with the Stan Mid-Hellboy in cooperation with Dark Horse Comics & Mike Mignola. The black shoe has the image of Hellboy printed on its side in red and extra details on the inner and outer sole, like a collection of three extra footbeds, plus lace jewels, a mini-comic and unique tongue branding. Both the Forum Mid-Golden Army and the Stan Mid-Hellboy come in a specially designed shoe box and different tissue wrappings, making them true collector pieces.

The shoes will both be released worldwide in a limited edition. A total of 5,000 pairs of the Forum Mid-Golden Army will be sold in adidas Originals stores and selected partner stores. 1,000 pairs only of Stan Mid-Hellboy will be available exclusively in adidas Originals stores. Retail prices will be $100/€100 for the Forum Mid-Golden Army and $150/€150 for the Stan Mid-Hellboy.

Nike SB P-Rod III (3) – Cinco de Mayo

The Nike SB P-Rod III (3) is the third signature model of Paul Rodriguez, and has started to make its way to retailers. Although May is not here, the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo, as well as the country’s flag, are the inspiration behind this pair, which yields a green suede upper along with a white midsole, black and red outsole, and the signature P-Rod diamond print on the heel. Look for them to make their way to accounts near the end of April.

Ironman Dunks SB Nike – Holiday 2010

The reign of the Dunk may be coming back in full swing. Looks like the silhouettes keep getting stronger and stronger and to boot they are really standing out as unique designs apart from everything else thats out.

Here is a sneak peak glance at the new Iron Man Dunk SB that is set to release from the Nike camp sometime soon. from the looks of things the color blocking and material choices all add up to a great looking shoe. The yellow just looks great against that maroon upper. What do you guys think?

Yellow Curb SB Nike Dunk and Janoski Premium – Holiday 2010

The Nike skateboarding camp have been hard at work on a few models for the holiday season. While it is months away a few images have leaked out showing some great strides being made. Here we see the Yellow Curb Dunk SB and the Janoski Premium.

The real star of this story tho is the Yellow Curb SB Dunk. Aside from its great LIVESTRONG-esque color way we think we definitely see the fat tongue being used. This should be exciting for a few reasons, the main one being everybody wants it back. Well almost everybody. Via NSB

John Galliano Homme Spring/Summer 2010 Sneakers

Shoe designers often find inspiration in the most unordinary of places. Take this Spring/Summer 2010 sneaker from John Galliano Homme. Inspired by the military campaign of Napoleon Bonaparte against Egypt in 1798, the shoe is both unique and testament to design.

The high stop sneaker comes in three colorways, teal/orange/black, black/white, and blue/yellow/black, and is constructed of leather, patent leather, and mesh. Throughout the upper, the contrasting colors show the design details in the stitching as well as the vision of the designer. The ankles carry a lot of the weight of the design, as they are left wide open with only a slight bit of pipping cover the top. Finally, a white outsole solidifies the design and creates a shoe that has it’s own character and represents a time long forgotten. They are currently available at selective boutiques around the world, including RESTIR of Tokyo.

SBTG x KULT Silent Auction for AIDS Charity

As artist, we often get to make a living doing something we love to do. However, it is when we use the gifts we are giving to help someone else that makes the most difference. In an effort to help the people of Africa fight the AIDS epidemic, SBTG (Mark Ong) and visual culture magazine KULT in Singapore are holding a silent auction. All the profits from the auction go to the non-profit Africa Health Placements project to buy medical equipment in rural Africa.

To enter the auction, bidders from around the world should email their proposed price for the shoes to auction@kult.com.sg by April 21. The The highest bidder will be announced to the public at facebook.com/kult3D on June 1 and will receive a pair of shoes in their size customized with SBTG’s exclusive ‘Kult Darling’ design. As sneakerheads we are always looking for that elusive pair of kicks that no one else has. We also like to tell the story behind how we came up on that particular pair of sneakers. Here is an opportunity to achieve both those goals.

Ecentrik Shoe Artistry: Playstation Air Force One Custom Remake

The folks over at Ecentrik Shoe Artistry had a little extra time on their hands and decided to recreate the Nike Air Force 1 Playstation 10th Anniversary sneaker. As many of you may recall, the AF1 Playstation is a highly sought ofter sneaker. With only about 50 pairs being made, only the most exclusive of sneakerheads may have even seen them in person.

The folks at Ecentrik Shoe Artistry, like us, wanted to have their own pair and decided to create a one of one copy of the original. Though the blue on the sole is different, the custom looks very similar to the original. The only thing that stands out to me is the missing gradient on the back panel and the difference in material make-up. But besides that, it looks nice. Take a look at some before, after, and comparison shots below. How do you guys feel about a customizer making remaking a special edition sneaker?

Vans Vault x MLB New York Yankees Old Skool LX for DQM

I have heard that the Yankees have the best fans in the world. Whether that is true or not, I guess we will see when they line up to grab a pair of these limited edition Vans Vault Old Skool LX. The shoe is the latest in the Vans Vault x MLB Opening Day collection.

The low top sneakers sport a leather upper that sports the classic Yankee blue stripes. They sit on a white vulcanized sole and sport the usual stripe aroudn the midsole. Like the others, only 12 pairs will be available and they will be sold with an authentic matching jersey. They will be released on April 13 at DQM in New York.
